I think my house is bugged what can I do?
It can be a really weird feeling the feeling that you are being bugged. It starts with a few coincidences and then an ex might know a little bit too much about your life without them and then you start bumping into people but they are expecting you. You might think you are going mad but what if you are not – what are you going to do? Call a private detective as they will be able to help you get your world back in order. The private detective will ask you some questions about what has been happening in your life. Some questions could be a little embarrassing but the detective will only ask questions he needs to know the answer to to help you out.
What sort of questions will he ask me?
The detective will need to know all about your last relationship and your living arrangements. He will ask about all the people who live with you and who have lived with you in the past. It will be sensible questions about your computer, telephone, car and your Facebook details. He will like to know if anyone has anything against you and if anyone has been mad at you recently.
What will happen next?
The next step will be to do an electronic sweep of your home and your car. This will show if there are any equipment or devices active. The detective will also like to investigate your mobile telephone and your computer to check that they are clean from bugs or viruses. This will take a couple of hours and when the investigation is complete any bugs or devices found will be removed and disengaged. At this point it may be possible to find out who would have set them up in the first place.
What sort of things have you found in the past?
Our agents have found all sorts of interesting devices and equipment in the past in people’s homes and cars. The most popular device has been a GPS Tracking device on a car. This is an easy device to purchase online and it is reasonably cheap. The device will track where the car goes and what speeds it is driven at for as long as the battery lasts. Hidden cameras are popular in bedrooms and bathrooms and are often left by an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend so they can still see what is happening with their ex. Computer and phone software will send information that happens on the phone or the computer to an email set up by the bugger. This normally tells the person who has set it up all your latest news and information including any new romances or meetings or outings.
What can be done about it?
In some cases the person who has set up the devices is not very careful and leaves clues to their identity all over the place. Some devices need to have batteries changed or film changed. In these cases we can set up counter surveillance and film when the batteries are changed for example. Also when a mobile or a computer has been bugged there are quite often leads to the person who has done this. It is breach of privacy and is an offence.
